關於非同步遠距同步遠距教學,若您的課程以講授為主,建議教師以非同步遠距教學(線上教學影片)為主要方案,意即使用「手機隨課錄(一邊上課、一邊把板書錄下來)」或用「EverCam」、「OBS」軟體將 PPT 錄製成教學影片,或使用本中心的「DIY 攝影棚」錄製教學影片,再將影片上傳至 NTU COOL 數位教學平臺供未能到校上課之同學觀看、提問、討論。 若您的課程著重即時討論,則建議使用視訊會議軟體,如 U 會議 (U Meeting)、U 簡報 (U Webinar),教師亦可選擇其他自己操作熟悉的視訊會議軟體與學生遠距討論。
然同步線上教學需要穩定、高品質之網路環境,以及學生端網路連線之配合,因此本中心建議教師原則上優先採取「非同步遠距教學」。至於同步遠距課程則較適用於小班討論課 (seminar)、論文指導、論文口試等教學情境。
課後上傳影片至 NTU COOL,提供學生上網觀看。

Regarding asynchronous and synchronous distance teaching, if your course features lectures, it is suggested that you use asynchronous distance teaching (online teaching videos) as the main plan. That means that you can use your smartphone (recording while teaching) the courses, EverCam, or OBS to record your PTT presentations as teaching videos. You can also use the DIY Studio provided by the center to record teaching videos and upload them to the digital teaching platform NTU COOL after class for students who are unable to attend school to view, ask questions, and have discussions. If your course emphasizes real-time discussions, the use of video conferencing software is recommended.
Synchronous distance teaching and learning requires a steady, high-quality Internet environment as well as good Internet connection on the student’s side. In principle, the center suggests that instructors prioritize the asynchronous distance teaching plan. Synchronous distance teaching, on the other hand, is more suitable for teaching scenarios such as small-class seminars, thesis supervision, and oral defense.

The instructor records the actual teaching content

uploads the course videos to NTU COOL after class
for students to view online.
Students take part in the course, watch the teacher’s instruction and join discussions synchronously via the Internet.
● The instructor does not need to change his/her usual way of teaching.

● Students get to choose the time that is convenient for them to learn/review lessons.

● As the videos are placed on NTU COOL, troubles caused by the Internet environment can be reduced (e.g., lag in live streaming, not being able to use video conferencing software due to Internet restrictions.)

Students take part in real-time online discussion and questions.
Teacher-student or student-student real-time Q&A and discussions are not supported. (Asynchronous online discussions need to be conducted on NTU COOL.)
It requires a stable, high-quality Internet environment as well as a good Internet connection on the student’s side. (China’s restrictions on the Internet are beyond our control.)
